MCIPV Study

Exploration d’une intervention axée sur le trauma complexe avec les hommes auteurs de comportements préjudiciables dans leurs relations intimes/Exploring a complex trauma-focused intervention with men who engage in harmful behaviors in their intimate relationships

This study examines the effectiveness of the complex trauma-informed Needs ABC counseling model for IPV perpetrators (Caplan, 2008) that has been developed over the past two decades at the MDVC and MAMC. The model combines a pro-feminist focus with motivational interviewing to engage voluntary and non-voluntary IPV perpetrators in a 15-week group complex trauma-informed counselling intervention (MDVC, 2019). The current project utilizes a mixed methods sequential exploratory design to evaluate change in affect regulation capacity, cognition, and behaviors related to IPV perpetration following a 14-week complex trauma-informed intervention.

We have recently completed the data collection and started the data analysis phase.
